Clawhammer Tune-torial Videos

Clawhammer Tune-torials are video lessons of a specific tune.

What’s a “Tune-torial”? That is a Video Tune Tutorial instruction of a tune! These have been appearing at The Banjo Hangout (free to join the hangout) since about June of 2014. They are intended to help you learn new tunes and fill in on tunes you already know. While most are from my book, Old Time Favorites for Clawhammer Banjo some come from my older publication Old Time Festival Tunes for Clawhammer Banjo. Other times it is just a student request either for a specific tune or technique.

Each Tunetorial takes only one tune and plays it up to speed then slower breaking down the bits as we go. Some have special coverage of a specific technique (such as skip or x notes or use of the left hand for movement free playing) and others just the tune. Banjo Hangout also provides a forum for discussion on the tunes as well as a showcase for you to post your version for show or critique.

Go to Banjo Hangout’s Tunetorial Index to see the list of tunes available and purchase these videos.
