As I think you know, I leave for Almaty, Kazakhstan tomorrow (Monday the 17th) morning. I will be participating in a weeklong Cultural Exchange sponsored by The Southwest Folk Life Alliance in conjunction with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and Music Unbound in a very exciting program of music and cultural exchange. You can find out more on this program at https://folklife.si.edu/news-and-events/music-unbound-exchange. I consider it quite an honor to have been chosen and in many ways a validation of the work I have been doing for so many years.
I will be gone for 10 days so there will be no jams for those weeks. There is a first Wednesday Thirsty’s jam September 2nd which I am hoping to attend.
My other news is that I am scheduled for a knee replacement on Sept 14. I am supposed to be at rehab on the 16th! GO FIGURE!
I imaging I won’t have regular internet service over there so I will post when I can.
Lessons: Yes, I am now accepting new and returning students for the fall semester. You may start as early as September 1 with an expected break around the 14th for the above mentioned knee replacement. One lesson or ongoing, on line or in person, I work with you according to your needs, desires and abilities to help you become a better musician. Contact me by email or text. Complete information is on my Lessons page at https://clawdan.com/lessons/
Till next time,
Play Nice,
Dan
